Based on the same technology as the original NanoTracer, which was first introduced back in 2009, the NanoTracer XP is a compact, feature rich instrument designed specifically for measuring ultrafine particles of which traditional optical particle counters and dust monitors simply can’t measure.

Many dust / particle monitoring instruments on the market, used for indoor and or outdoor air quality monitoring or other applications are capable of measuring particles down to 500nm, 300nm or 100nm at best. They are not capable of measuring finer particles such as “Ultrafine Particles” which are defined as particles less than 100nm in size.

Airborne ultrafine and nano particles pose a recognized threat to potentially millions of people throughout the world. When inhaled they are deposited deep in the lungs, where they can lead to serious respiratory problems and other illnesses.

Some industries and areas are at higher risk than others. Some of these fine aerosols such as welding fumes and diesel particulates are even carcinogenic and linked to cancer in humans.

What it Measures

  • Ultrafine particle concentration from 10nm to 300nm
  • Average particle diameter
  • Lung deposited surface area

Some Key Features

  • It’s fully portable and battery operated
  • It’s wearable for personal exposure monitoring
  • Real-time continuous measurements
  • There are NO liquids or other consumables needed
  • The battery run time is typically 8 hours
  • 10 weeks of continuous data logging
  • Based on well known and established technology
  • It’s simple to use

How it Helps Industry

This unit may be used by itself to identify ultrafine particle hot spots in ANY industry or may be used alongside other optical particle counting instruments to enable customers to measure across a broad spectrum.

  • 10nm to 300nm – NanoTracer XP
  • 300nm to 10um or greater – Other dust monitor or OPC
