Alpha Scientific is proud to announce that it has recently completed another major hospital particle & environmental monitoring system project incorporating a large number of Beckman Coulter Met One 6015 series particle counters, some Pharmagraph technology and a wide range of environmental monitoring sensors, probes & accessories. In addition to monitoring their cleanrooms, bio safety cabinets, cytotoxic cabinets and other areas, this particular hospital also wanted to monitor outdoor air quality levels and thus one of our MCERTS certified Palas AQ Guard Smart air monitoring stations was mounted on the roof and connected to their EMS for real-time outdoor air quality monitoring.

This particular facility now has the ability to continuously monitor their cleanrooms and controlled environments in real-time along with simultaneously monitoring outdoor air quality parameters including:

  • Temperature
  • Humidity
  • Simultaneous PM1, PM2.5, PM4, PM10 & TSP particulate levels
  • Atmospheric pressure
  • Real-time 64 channel particle sizing from 175nm to 20um

Wind speed and direction we believe have also now been added.

Outdoor airborne particulates (smoke, bush fires, traffic fumes, dust etc) can easily impact on indoor air quality. There is a growing level of interest in indoor air quality monitoring locally and globally and this major hospital has clearly taken a step forward in being able to monitor the environment both inside and out. We would like to thank our system integration partners, the GMP consultant and others who were involved in this project and of course the customer for choosing to implement this technology and work with all parties involved.
