Our partners at Pegasor Oy in Finland are excited to share the news that Pegasor is part of and playing a vital role in the European Union’s UNIC project (understanding non-CO₂ impact for de carbonized aviation). This initiative focuses on improving our understanding of aviation-related emissions and finding new ways to make air travel cleaner and more sustainable.

What is the UNIC Project?

UNIC is an EU-funded research initiative that brings together experts from different fields to study non-CO₂ emissions from aviation, including particulate matter and nitrogen oxides (NOₓ). The project is also looking at how alternative fuels like sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and hydrogen impact emissions. The goal is to help the aviation industry reduce its environmental footprint while ensuring that future regulations are based on solid scientific data.

Pegasor’s Role

Pegasor is proud to bring their measurement technology and expertise in real-time particle measurement to the project. Their escaping current technology provides:

  • Accurate and stable PM (particulate matter) measurements
  • Reliable data with minimal maintenance
  • A broad measurement range, from raw engine emissions to ambient air monitoring

With aviation emissions becoming an increasingly important topic, their technology will help improve measurement accuracy and consistency, ensuring that research and regulatory decisions are based on the best possible data.

For the broader global market, their involvement in UNIC highlights their commitment to staying at the forefront of emission measurement technology. As environmental regulations tighten, reliable monitoring solutions will be more important than ever and Pegasor is making sure they are ready for what’s ahead.
